We’re BACK!

  1. Thank you. Our time away for Charis & Aaron’s wedding was truly blessed.

Thank you for your prayers, your gifts to the happy couple, stepping in to lead worship & look after one another while we were away & while my sister was here enjoying a brief taste of Australia. Rest assured there’ll be more photos coming as soon as I have them.

  1. Thank you too for being such a welcoming community for Pastor Bob while he was with us…and I hope is with us often! He is one of those faithful gentle saints from whom I am learning a great deal. I do believe that part of our 10th anniversary & recasting a vision for the next decade in mission includes some sort of partnership with First Nation Christians. Please continue to pray for that opportunity.
  2. Speaking of our next 10 years…I’ve extended an invitation to our gospel-co-workers in the US (Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ) about having someone come over for a visit around the end of June. We’ll see…but do pray for that as well. Also…as we re-vision for the next decade…What’s on your heart? But more importantly…How will you be led by the Spirit to help us get there? I’d love some time to talk about that with you. And remember… “I’ll be dead by then,” is NOT an acceptable answer!
  3. Carols in the Park – THIS SATURDAY! December 10th from 6 p.m. with singing around 7:30 p.m. This seems to have been pulled into place quite last minute-ish but should be a great evening. Another thing you can pray about is the post-Covid lack of a distinct functioning inter-churches network. There’s lots of reasons for that, some good ones & some not so good, but we desperately need better communication & coordination among the churches in Wagga Wagga if we are to have a serious harvest in the gospel. No one church, no matter how large it gets, ever reaches an entire city. We need the whole body in mission together.

That’s probably enough for the first day back behind my computer…I shared this with a few people this week but it continues to sing in my heart…so you get it now too. It’s Hebrews 7:24-25

Because Jesus lives forever, his priesthood lasts forever.  Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.

It’s the “forevers” that got me. It’s a word of security in my identity as God’s beloved child. It’s a pledge of provision, protection & presence toward my destiny in God in Christ which I already enjoy today. It’s a guarantee that I am forever before the Father…come what may in my circumstances, never forgotten, never forsaken, never abandoned, never alone…you get the picture…It’s true about you too. We have nothing to fear because in Christ we have every blessing the Father desires to pour out fully at our disposal. I’ll live off that for a while…I pray it shapes the remainder of your week at least.

Peace

John

PS – See you Sunday!
