Welcome to weekend worship!

Welcome to weekend worship!

Blessed Friday y’all!

Well…the new school year has started. It’s official…2021 is up and running & at the moment it looks like a wet end to the month of January!

I’m looking forward to seeing all of you in worship Sunday…there’s no real reason to simply join online any longer. It’s time to fully re-engage with your faith family in person and to bring someone with you…a friend or family member…someone from work or your neighbourhood whom you’ve thought about inviting…now’s the time.

This weekend is also our AGM. I feel pretty sure it’ll be a brief one…we were locked out for much of last year but if you’ve got questions for the Steering Team, bring ‘em! We’d love to talk about how we get up and running in mission for this coming year. Also…keep in mind that 3-4 of our Steering Team folks will need to take time out in 2022…So…be talking to them about how you can step into a more visible leadership role in the future and start learning the ropes this year.

The Sermon will be on the website soon…but maybe wait until after you’ve heard it in person before you read it or print it out to give to someone who isn’t there.

I am reading Exodus at the moment…Exodus 6:9 is a hard text…not to understand, but because I find it easy to identify the same failing in my life.
So Moses told the people of Israel what the Lord had said, but they refused to listen anymore. They had become too discouraged by the brutality of their slavery.

Sometimes life just wears you out…tears you down…and you just can’t take in anything anymore. Not from your friends. Not from your family. Not from God.
But from that point forward, in Exodus, God acts decisively to lead his people out of Egypt to himself in the land he promises to give them.
God never quits working to bring freedom to his people.
When we are worn out, burned out, beat down, completely bedraggled & bushed…God continues to work for us.

Praise God for his untiring faithful love for us!

See you Sunday!

John
