15 Jun One gracious blessing after another
Welcome to Winter!
What a chilly wet few days we’ve had here in the early part of Winter! I’m happy for the farmers & the skiers…they all seem to be getting just what is required at the moment. I’m also thankful that all those folks who got stranded around Mt Hotham made it out ok…would have been quite a night spent in your car trapped alongside the snowy & icy road.
We’re getting prepared for our 12th Birthday as a congregation next weekend & I’ve been saying I want to hear your favourite Living Water moment or memory…particularly in the way that God has used us to further the reach of his kingdom. I’ve been thinking about that myself & a verse from the Christmas Day reading from the gospel of John keeps rumbling around in my heart. John 1:16 – From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another. That’s what these last 12 years feel like to me.
So…for the days ahead…like I have mentioned a couple of times, we have a full calendar for June…

- Living Water’s 12th Birthday! We’re not specifically going to have Morning Tea…but I’m going to make sure there’s cake!
Sunday 22nd June – AND REMEMBER: What’s your favourite Living Water moment or memory? Remember, it’s not just about us, but how God has used us uniquely for his Kingdom.
- THANK YOU! What an incredible weekend we’ve enjoyed! Thank you Jeff & Norma for sharing your lovely home among the gum trees again! Thanks to everyone who made the trip & brought food to share & to Phil & Sandra for making sure the evening went so smoothly. And God bless the possum family for being such a joy.
- THANK YOU! also for the fabulous Soup & Safe Church event Sunday after worship. I always appreciate Paul’s leadership through the material that helps us ensure Living Water is an open welcoming & trustworthy fellowship for any & all. Thanks too to Liz for organizing the food & to all the soup chefs! I’m pretty sure I set a new record for cups of soup consumed at a church function!
Also…To the many who’ve asked after my health following my minor eye surgery…Thanks! I’m making progress as I should. The eye looks awful but is about right in terms of progress toward healing. I see the surgeon again this week, and he’ll be able to judge the process better fairly. We seem to be on a bit of a run of varied sicknesses around our fellowship family…please do keep checking in on one another and seeing if there are any needs we can serve from among us. AND…as always…give me a ring if you’d like to go get a coffee one day. I’m always happy to have a chat.
Looking forward to celebrating our birthday with you next Sunday & maybe running into you somewhere along the way this week.
Peace
John
