Lots of good news!

Lots of good news!

Hi everybody!

Before the week gets away…let me get a few reminders out there for us.

  1. Bible Study Catch-Up

2nd September 2, 2022 @ 1:00 PM

Join Zoom Meeting (click the link) – https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88022194499  — Meeting ID: 880 2219 4499

We’re looking at the last of Esther, chapters 8, 9 & 10 from the past Sunday. See you there!

  1. This coming Sunday is Father’s Day! AND it’s a Giving Beyond Ourselves opportunity for our mission partners at CSU UniChurch. What a great way to help share the gospel in a place most of us never get to visit.  AND it’s a Morning Tea 1st/3rd So…as we kick-off a new worship & teaching series, we’ll extend God’s generosity in our giving & expand our fellowship over the course of shared good food! See you there!
  2. As we have moved through this year and are truly enjoying the uninterrupted gathering for worship unlike the last couple of years, we’ve expanded the way we experience God’s word in worship. Gigantic thanks to Philippa and our worship leaders and to everyone who has played a role in our varied reader’s theatres and brief skits and sketches each Sunday. We’re looking to be as creative as we can to see the many different ways we can learn from God’s word among his people. So…when we’re looking for a volunteer or two…please say, “I’m available” again and again.
  3. Finally…claim that date! 25th September – Wagga Run & Ride. We’ve reserved our place for our water station to serve our city in a pretty fun and exciting way from about 9:00 a.m. THEN we’ll be gathering for worship around lunch tables about 12-12:30.

Before I send this off & post it to the website…

I was reading Psalm 142 this morning…a few of the verses just sounded incredibly true for me…just this snippet:

When I am overwhelmed,
you alone know the way I should turn…
I pray to you, O Lord.
I say, “You are my place of refuge.
You are all I really want in life.”

It’s really true…amid the crazy clamouring in the world & often in my own heart, all I really want is to see God, and see him work through the many moving pieces of my life…in us as a community of disciples who are to make more disciples, in my family, in my friendships in town, in each of you…I think there’s something solid & secure in all that…To seek God’s presence & power in all those places of our lives. Beyond my being overwhelmed I know the Father never will disappoint…so I seek what I know is sure: Him.

Be blessed this week in your seeking only the One who truly satisfies.

John
