Happy Hump Day Y’all!

I hope you’ve had some time to enjoy the warmer weather and sunny days…I’m told rain’s coming & I’m hoping it does. Over the school holidays I have a hunch I’m going to be sticking some seeds in the ground & getting some seedlings started, & a dose of rain will help matters along nicely. But…we’re also still in a busy season in the mission of Christ here as well…So…

1. Zoom Bible Study Catch-up – we’ll recap our sermon from Brendan Handel on Acts 1:1-8 & Matthew 28:16-20 – and get set for the next series “Pressure Points.” Join us & let’s see what else God can teach us!

2. Saturday 28^th September – Living Water Prayer Morning – 10:00 a.m. @ the Guilfoyles’ house…I’ll have the kettle on!
3. Sunday 29^th September – Wagga Intersport Lake Run & Ride – Our annual opportunity to serve our community by hosting a water station for the athletes &kids & dogs & those out to enjoy the morning just for fun. The streets around the Hall will be blocked off starting from about 8:00 a.m. So all hands on deck by 8:00 to set up our drinks station. We’ll continue in the Hall with Lunch & Worship together starting at 12:00 noon. This is a full day but great fun.  It’s also a great day to invite your friends who wouldn’t normally be in worship!
4. Saturday night → Sunday morning – 5^th/6^th October – Daylight Savings Time…we’ll all move our clocks ahead 1 hour.
5. Sunday 6^th October – Living Water Fellowship AGM – Immediately following worship. We’ll grab some morning tea & get stuck into our essential business. Reports are available & we’re going to take some time during the budget discussion to really talk through our looming large scale financial shortfall. When you see the reports, the Treasurer’s Report will have some “prime the pump” questions that we might use to get the conversation going. They’ll be good to pray through & think through before the day.
6. Sunday 3^rd November – Living Water Church Picnic immediately following worship at the Botanic Gardens. Think how much fun you’re going to have riding the little trains!!!! Details will be forthcoming.
7. Claim the date!! – Thursday 27^th February 2025 – Citywide Interchurch  Evangelism Event with Colin Buchanan and Karl Faase @ The Range Function Centre

I’m still amazed at how full our schedule is…and how much of it is truly good stuff. Don’t miss a minute and invite your friends & family.

And yes…let me give you some advanced notice that Christmas is on a Wednesday this year…so our worship for Christmas Eve is Tuesday night & Christmas Day is the Wednesday morning. You gotta be there for that!

Sometimes…and I know I say this often…a particular verse in the Bible just grabs me. I’ll likely have read it a thousand times before, maybe even preached on it…but for reasons only the Holy Spirit knows this time it takes hold in a new way. This week…2 Timothy 3:12 – In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

I raised this question with a group the other day…and I raise it here because it just wouldn’t go away. Ask yourself, in light of what Paul says, “Am I living so shaped into Christ’s way that the world either turns against me or turns toward him?” Think about it…Does my life (your life) give the not-yet-believer either a reason to attack you or to fall at Jesus’ feet because we so live like Christ did? We know that people either attacked him or fell at his feet in faith & worship. Do we, as disciples, invite either of those responses?
