Blessed Sunday!

Blessed Sunday!

First…an apology. I do apologize for not having a morning set aside this week for our Zoom Bible Study. I was with people in smaller settings almost every day, which is great but it shut out our Zoom options pretty quickly…
So…before we do anything else…

Starting next Sunday, 9th August, we’ll have a shortened service IN THE Guide Hall as well as an on-line option.
Slowly but surely we’ll be all back together, but for now we’ll continue to operate in both web & in-person venues. I’m thankful we have such opportunities.
Our capacity is about 35…If you are not yet ready for group gathering…it’s ok to stay with us on-line. And if you were previously uncomfortable with being in a group that size & have changed your mind and are now ready to go back in, please let me know.

We are blessed to have two baptisms in these early days when our numbers are fewer, but what a great way to proclaim the Father’s rule over all things than to baptize in the face of the uncertainties surrounding this latest phase of the virus outbreak. It’ll be a joy to declare in such a tangible way that our hope is in Christ alone, not masks, or hand sanitizer or medical marvels, but in the One who holds all eternity in his grasp & still has room for each of us in his strong hands!

As our circumstances improve I’m sure we’ll find room for more than 35 in our socially-distanced worship, but for now…we’ll be glad for however we can emerge from this enforced separation.

I’m about 1/3 of the way through reading the Psalms. Amazing faith reflected there. This week I was drawn to, Psalm 55:22 – “Give your burdens to the Lord and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip & fall.” The Message translation of that reads in part “Pile your troubles on God’s shoulders…” I like that image. Just give to the Father whatever is troubling you…just pile it on his shoulders instead of yours…

John
