A few quick updates as we move into the week…

• Happy Mother’s Day again…what a great day celebrating Sunday. I do hope your family found ways to give God thanks for the Mums you know & celebrate their gifts of love & care to you. • Living Water is having another prayer hour on Saturday – May 21st From 10:00-11:00 a.m. in the Guide Hall. It’s a wonderful time of guided prayer & reflection as our Steering Team seeks to lead us more widely in mission to our community. Praying together is the best way to discern our future as God unfolds it before us. You’ll be glad you joined us.
• Bonfire @ High Valley! Saturday, 28th May! Our annual gathering out at Jeff & Norma’s place from about 2:00 p.m. until you need to leave. Bring some afternoon tea to share & when the bonfire’s lit there’ll be sausages sizzling if I remember correctly. I’ll update this as we get closer to the day…in case I’ve forgotten something.

 

The other morning I was reading Romans 12…this part may be my favourite:

vs 13 – “Rejoice in hope, be patient in affliction, & persistent in prayer.”

That morning I admitted to God that I was more likely to ask him to protect me & mine than to seek his hand on me & wisdom within in whatever situation comes to face me.

But I know that hope is essential when life feels afflicted & persistent prayer is essential at all times…so I asked for those gifts instead of the selfish ones of protection & ease & continued comfort.

Then I read Psalm 149:4 – “The Lord delights in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.”

 

I pray you experience the fullness of both of those verses!
