A week full of God’s open doors!

A week full of God’s open doors!

Welcome to the start of Term 3 & a windy & perhaps wet week ahead!

Let’s get the “business end” of our ministry covered & then move into some other things…What we see is that God has opened doors for us almost every day along the way!

  1. Robert Wiencke’s Funeral is Thursday 24th July @ 10:00 a.m. at St Paul’s Anglican Church, Turvey Park.

Huge thanks to our gospel co-workers there for always being ready to help us in times of need. They share generously & therefore serve admirably so God can be praised.

  1. Zoom Bible Study Catch-up – If you haven’t had the chance to join us…please do!
    Friday 25th July 2025 @ 1:00 p.m.
    Join Zoom Meeting  —  https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89674789066  —  Meeting ID: 896 7478 9066
  2. An avalanche of birthdays! Doreen, Mike, Mary, Jan, Hamish, Tristan…oldest to youngest! God bless each of you with many more!
  3. The current Worship & Teaching series “Power Tools” concludes this week: The Power of Generosity…A new series starts in August looking at the life of Joseph, and how God worked in his quite troubled life for God’s glory & the good of God’s people. We’ve can learn & be encouraged greatly by studying the lives of our faith ancestors of whom Joseph is but one. How is it that God is working in you, “Behind the Seen”?
  4. An incredible opportunity…29th July! A few weeks back I mentioned an amazing opportunity for public witness had arisen…I’ve been invited to pray for the opening of the Horse Racing Season at the Murrumbidgee Turf Club. I’ve become acquainted with the head of the Australian Racing Christian Chaplains, Rev. Colin Watts. The ARCC is Living Water’s August Giving Beyond Ourselves recipient, and as a prelude to that, I’ll be out at the races praying for the jockeys, track workers, horses, and all in attendance asking God to keep them all from harm & danger & to reveal his grace & love to all of us. Racing is an ancient sport about which I know very little other than it is dangerous. The ARCC is a volunteer-driven pastoral care arm of the church that cares for those on whom the racing industry depends, but who are the most vulnerable of its employees. So…we’ll see what eventuates from that.

My daily Bible reading & devotional plan has led me smack in the middle of the Psalms & Revelation at the moment…what a combination that is! I was struck by this part of Psalm 33…verses 18-22: “Behold! The eye of the Lord is on those who fear him; those who rely on his unfailing love. He rescues them from death & sustains them in times of famine. We put our hope in the Lord. He is our help & our shield. In him our hearts rejoice for we trust in his holy name. Let your unfailing love surround us Lord, for our hope is in you alone.” I followed that up with these verses from Psalm 34…verses 9-10: “Fear the Lord, you his godly people, for those who fear him will have all they need. Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing.” You’ll hear some of this again on Sunday, but the question arises, What else is unrestrained sustenance? Who else/Where else is perpetual provision? Every worldly hope or worldly offer is false, fleeting & failing. To lean on any support other than the Father & his eternal provision in Jesus is to invite want, chaos & destruction into your life. But, “Trust in the Lord & do good. Then you will live safely in the land & flourish. Take delight in the Lord & he will give you the desires of your heart.” – Psalm 37:3-4.

I’m sure I’ll see you along the way this week & then again on Sunday.

God bless you richly & keep you from getting blown over in today’s blustery conditions!

John
