Remember and Thank You!

Remember and Thank You!

Happy Tuesday y’all! — Ok…So I shot this email around Tuesday & let it sit here in the “unpublished” part of our website & flat forgot to put it out there. It’s been one of those kinds of weeks!

And quite a wet one it is at that…and it appears the week may get wetter before it gets better. — Was I right?

Just a few notes today…mostly in the realm of reminders & thank yous…So…

  1. Zoom Bible Study Catch-up – a bit of a catch-up from our opening look at Exodus 1:1-2:10
    Friday 9th June 2023  @ 1:00 PM
    Join Zoom Meeting  —  https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83586782734  —  Meeting ID: 835 8678 2734
  2. Cancer Council Biggest Morning Tea! Over $800…Thank you! Every one of us has been touched by a cancer diagnosis at some level & the Cancer Council is such a valuable partner in our work to overcome it. Thank you!
  3. Stories of Promise – I was so blessed by Trevor’s sharing on Sunday, and am confident this week will be equally so. I need a few more volunteers. Yes you can. Talk to me and we’ll work it out. I have absolute confidence in the God who has been with you your whole life to make good on your capacity to give him glory.
  4. Claim the date! 25th June – Living Water’s 10th Anniversary – We’re making plans for having lunch together after worship. We’ve received a lovely gift to help with that day’s festivities. So…make plans to stick around & enjoy the day.
  5. Speaking of the end of June… – It also signals the end of the financial year. Like in the previous years of our ministry together, we have been exceedingly blessed by God’s generosity through your hands. Our Steering Team has managed those resources exceedingly well & we have not seen desperate financial circumstances. But like most other congregations, the tightening of the global financial belt is starting to cut pretty close for us too. I’d invite you to consider, between now & our 10th birthday celebration, a special gift to our operating account, and an increase to your regular giving to see us on a front-foot moving into the next decade in mission together. I’ve just finished reading 2 Corinthians 8 – 9 where Paul has this conversation with the church in Corinth. I commend that to you.

I’ll drop another note later in the week…and leave you with this promise that I shared in another forum this morning:

Proverbs 10:25 – “When the storms of life come, the wicked are whirled away, but the godly have a lasting foundation.”

Praying this week that your foundation is unshakable, come what may.

John
