Now it’s our turn…

Now it’s our turn…

Hi Everyone

Well…now it’s our turn to be locked down. From 5pm tonight (14 August) until 12:01 a.m. NEXT Sunday (22 August) morning.

What does that mean? Well…obviously we’re not gathering for Worship, GBO & Morning Tea tomorrow. RATS! I was looking forward to morning tea.

AND…given that the official word didn’t get formally circulated until late this afternoon & the NSW Health website didn’t have any details until about 4pm…no way to really be fully prepared for this one & I apologize if someone feels left out or cut off.

The Service Order, Growing Praise, & print version of the Sermon for tomorrow are already on our website & I’m going to try to upload a recorded video sermon there by tomorrow morning. Pray for that effort. It’s going to be dicey…but who knows? God is good and miracles happen…and I’m going to get my kids to help with the tech end of things. 😉 I’m feeling pretty confident about that part.

So…a couple of things you can do:

  1. Keep praying & pray harder…We are at a place where we’re going to need God to intervene definitively. All our human interventions are proving futile.
  2. Get on the phone with someone you know who might be alone. Talk together. Pray together on the phone. Read some Scriptures together. If we can’t gather in person…then let’s use the technology we ALL have & make it work for us.
  3. If you’re really struggling…ring me. 6931 5673
  4. Be ready to gather NEXT week…when this 7-day thing is scheduled to end. And pray that there are no extensions.

We’ll get through this one too. Seems like my morning reading was right on again: Psalm 102

18Let this be recorded for future generations,
so that a people not yet born will praise the Lord.
19 Tell them the Lord looked down
from his heavenly sanctuary.
He looked down to earth from heaven
20     to hear the groans of the prisoners,
to release those condemned to die.
21 And so the Lord’s fame will be celebrated in Zion,
his praises in Jerusalem,
22 when multitudes gather together
and kingdoms come to worship the Lord.

We will see our release from bondage…God is not deaf to the cries & prayers of his people. We will tell future generations how God broke in on this & delivered us.

John
